(Patria) - A delegation of the World Bank visited the Indirect Taxation Authority in Banja Luka today,
where possibilities of including the ITA in projects offered by the World Bank to Western Balkan countries, and thus Bosnia and Herzegovina, were discussed. The Safe and Sustainable Transport Project (SSTP) is a grant blending program that combines grant funds from the Western Balkans Investment Framework (WBIF) with World Bank investment loans, particularly towards investing in safer and more sustainable transport infrastructure, which certainly includes border crossings.
At the meeting, ITA Director Dr. Zoran Tegeltija expressed interest in the ITA being included in future investment projects as a holder or partner institution, but emphasized that the method of potential credit borrowing, which would allow the withdrawal of grant funds, must first be resolved, especially considering that all credit borrowing in BiH is done at the entity level.
The World Bank delegation pointed out that at upcoming meetings in Banja Luka and Sarajevo, they will try to find a financing model that would allow for the inclusion of the Indirect Taxation Authority's needs, primarily in improving the infrastructure at border crossings, accelerating the start of NCTS usage, the possibility of establishing a "single window" for all agencies involved in customs procedures, and others.
