Taekwondo athlete Nino Šeremet wins another medal for BiH at EYOF

(Patria) - Young Bosnian-Herzegovinian taekwondo athlete Nino Šeremet has won another medal for Bosnia and Herzegovina at the European Youth Festival, securing bronze in the +73 kg category.

After defeating Stanislav Pivavarchyk and Bulgarian representative Andi Vladimirov in excellent performances, he followed up with a 2-0 victory over Antonis Sophockleous from Cyprus.

However, Spaniard Ivan Lysenko proved better than the member of TKD Magone Livno and advanced to the final.

The excellent Frenchwoman Fatima Mendy prevented our Anja Hrgić from bringing another medal to Bosnia and Herzegovina after Šeremet. Mendy won 2-0 in the quarter-final bout in the up to 63 kg category.

Adin Hodžić and Lajla Ćebo also competed today. Hodžić was defeated in the first round of the up to 73 kg category by Georgian Nika Gogoberidze, while Ćebo lost her first-round bout in the +63 kg category to Serbian representative Anđela Šević.

In addition to the three BiH taekwondo athletes who competed at EYOF today, Hena Melez (-44 kg), Ejla Makaš (-49 kg), Anamarija Miličević (-55 kg), Denis Terzić (-48 kg), Eman Čavalić (-55 kg), and Emin Demić (-63 kg) also competed in previous days. All the girls successfully completed their first bouts but were stopped in the second round, while Terzić, Čavalić, and Demić ended their participation in the first round of the taekwondo tournament at the European Youth Olympic Festival.
