The Same Love Connects Us All: Hundreds of People in Love with Velež at the Red Night

(Patria) - Everything is ready for Velež's Red Night, which will be held on Friday, May 10th, at the Havana catering facility in Blagaj, starting at 8:30 PM, it was announced at today's press conference. It was symbolically held on the terrace with the most beautiful view of the Old Bridge, after which the Club organized a short gathering with journalists.

"When we were discussing today's press conference, the head of the team responsible for everything concerning the Red Night, Adi Đukić, suggested we hold it on this terrace, near the Old Bridge. When coach Klafurić saw the view of the bridge a moment ago, his comment was that we are in the most beautiful place in Bosnia and Herzegovina. The destinies of the Old Bridge and Velež are intertwined through history, especially during the unfortunate war. Unfortunately, the Old Bridge and Velež experienced the same fate. Just as the Old Bridge was rebuilt later, so was Velež. Today, the Old Bridge is a symbol of Mostar, and Velež is well on its way to becoming a mirror of a club's and football's development. The Old Bridge connects shores and people, and Velež has been doing the same for decades. Loves, friendships, and camaraderie were born with Velež. The slogan 'The Same Love Connects Us All' speaks to the way we organize and what this night means to everyone who loves Velež," said Velež President Senad Kevelj.

He also praised the results on and off the football field.

"I am happy, satisfied, and proud of the results we have achieved this year, as well as in the previous five or six years. We have continuity in good work. This year and in the coming years, Velež will follow its path. That is a strong and powerful European Velež," he stated.

Club Director Samra Eminović spoke about the Red Night itself, the effort invested in its organization, and other interesting details.

"We are all Velež. This is a traditional, donor celebration. A large number of people are behind the organization. We have worked diligently, and I thank everyone for everything they have done. We expect around four hundred guests, and legends such as Enver Marić, Džemal Hadžiabdić, Ivan Ćurković, Blaž Slišković, and others will be present. I invite everyone who has Velež in their heart to join us and show what kind of strength we are," said the club director.

Head of the professional staff, Dean Klafurić, will be attending Velež's Red Night for the first time. The celebration reminded him of similar events in other clubs he is associated with.

"The Red Night reminds me of Dinamo's former Blue Night, as I am a Dinamo fan. The local club Udarnik from the place where I live also had a Red Night. I ended my playing career and started my coaching career there. They were always nice parties for fans, people who love the club, legends, and current management and players. I expect the same on Friday, and I am especially looking forward to meeting Velež legends, some again, and I believe I will meet some for the first time. They were childhood idols for me. More than ten of them. Velež was one of the few, or the only club with players who came up through their own academy, from neighborhood tournaments. They played recognizable football. I am looking forward to it, and it will be an honor for me," stated Klafurić.

Today's conference was concluded by captain Denis Zvonić, who invited everyone who has Velež in their heart to be a part of the celebration on Friday.

"I congratulate my teammates, the professional staff, the management, and the fans on qualifying for the European stage. I invite fans and friends to join us at the Red Night so we can elevate the event to the highest level, because in the end, the same love connects us all," said Zvonić.
