Everything is ready for the fourth edition of the Stojčevac 5K race, with a road-mountain recreational cycling race being held for the first time

(Patria) - On Saturday, June 21, the fourth edition of the humanitarian race Stojčevac 5K will be held, starting and finishing at the well-known Ilidža picnic area below Mount Igman.

The race starts at 6:30 PM, and the Municipality of Ilidža as the organizer and the Public Institution Cultural, Sports and Recreation Center Ilidža as the technical organizer have prepared a rich all-day sports and entertainment program.

The distribution of starting packages for all participants began today at the building of the Public Institution Cultural, Sports and Recreation Center Ilidža, at Mala aleja 67. Volunteers of the humanitarian race Stojčevac 5K will distribute packages tonight from 8:00 PM for all registered runners from the Sarajevo Canton, while for runners from outside the Canton, distribution will be tomorrow at the same location between 12:00 PM and 3:00 PM.

Just like in previous years, as part of Family Day, which starts at 9:00 AM, numerous free activities for play, socializing, and fun are provided for the youngest visitors.

One of this year's novelties is the road-mountain recreational cycling race, which will start at 4:00 PM and cover five kilometers – from Stojčevac to the end of the renovated section of the War Road on Igman.

The humanitarian race Stojčevac 5K gathers an increasing number of runners and participants year after year, and rightly holds the title of the most massive race of its kind in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

– We have made every effort to ensure that Stojčevac 5K is on the calendar of numerous runners, athletes, recreationalists, residents of Ilidža, as well as its visitors this year. We have tried to learn from the three previous races we organized and further improve the content. This year's novelty is the road-mountain recreational cycling race, and we will start planning new things for 2026 on Saturday when the last runner crosses the finish line – stated the Mayor of the Municipality of Ilidža, Nermin Muzur.

The race has developed and grown over the years, but the key values remain unchanged.

– I believe that the unique trail that leads through the green oases of Ilidža is special not only in Bosnia and Herzegovina but also beyond. We are also proud of the humanitarian nature of our race – the entire proceeds from entry fees go to humanitarian purposes – added Muzur, and invited all citizens to be a part of another edition of Stojčevac 5K on Saturday, June 21.
