Sulejmanović signs for Unicaja: Reward for a stellar season and a new chapter in the ACB league

(Patria) - Bosnian and Herzegovinian basketball player Emir Sulejmanović has found a new engagement after a fantastic season in Zaragoza.

His brilliant performances did not go unnoticed, so he signed a two-year contract with the reputable Spanish club Unicaja Malaga, which presented him as one of the best rebounders in the ACB league.

In the Malaga jersey, Sulejmanović will join two other basketball players of Bosnian roots – the experienced Nihad Đedović, a former BiH national team player, and Xavier Castaneda, who currently plays for the national team.

Unicaja's decision to sign Sulejmanović is primarily based on his dominance in rebounding, a segment of the game in which he stood out as one of the most consistent in the entire league. His arrival is part of the club's ambitious project, which, after a great last season – in which they eliminated Barcelona in the quarterfinals and put up strong resistance to Real Madrid in the semifinals – wants to further strengthen the team for the domestic championship and European challenges.

For Sulejmanović, who has not been part of the BiH national team for some time, this transfer represents a significant step forward and a new opportunity to prove himself at the highest level of Spanish basketball.
