(Patria) - Sarajevo's Bosna recorded its first victory in the FIBA Europe Cup tonight. And against what opponent!
The Students defeated the favored UCAM Murcia team on their home court, which in the Spanish ACB league (the same league where giants like Real Madrid and Barcelona play) has a 2-1 record after three rounds played.
In the end, the scoreboard in Sarajevo's Zetra, in the second round of FIBA's second-strongest competition, read Bosna BHT - UCAM Murcia 87-72.
Bosna imposed its game from the very beginning, took the lead, and deservedly held it until the end of the match. The Students led by as much as 20-8, but the first quarter ended with a score of 22-17.
The Sarajevans continued to bombard the Spanish team's basket, leading by as much as 18 points on two occasions (46-28 and 48-30), but went into halftime with a +10 lead (48-38).
They did not falter in the second half, although fans of the Sarajevo club in Zetra and those watching the game on TV (or other devices) might have feared such a scenario.
Bosna's lead in the third quarter reached 20 points several times. After 30 minutes of play, the scoreboard read 69-52.
Perhaps due to a slight relaxation from the Students, the Spanish managed to consolidate their ranks somewhat, but not enough to make the finale more dramatic. In the end, the score was 87-72.
A great game, led by Muhamed Pašalić as the new head of the professional staff, was played by Edin Atić with 19 points.
Chase Audige added 15, and West with 14, Šalić with 13, and Halilović with 10 points were also in double figures. Zubac also contributed significantly with 8, Young Jr scored 4, and Delalić and Persons each scored 2 points.

In the next, third round of the FIBA Europe Cup, Bosna will play away in Bulgaria against Rilski Sportist. That match is scheduled for October 29 at 5:30 PM.
Let us also remind you that today, in their matches in the Champions League and the ABA 2 regional league, Igokea, Sloboda, and Široki recorded convincing victories, so Bosna's triumph in Zetra rounded off the perfect record of BiH clubs - four out of four!
