Slovenia to reward Olympic gold in Paris with 70,000 euros

(Patria) - The cash prize for Slovenian gold medal winners in individual sports at the Paris Olympic Games will be 70,000 euros.

On the other hand, gold in team sports is worth 390,000 euros, says the President of the Slovenian Olympic Committee (OKS) Franjo Bobinac.

On the sidelines of a working meeting with representatives of national sports federations, Bobinac announced that the prize for Olympic gold in Paris in individual sports from the budget and OKS will amount to 70,000 euros, the selector will receive 67,000 euros, and the team 390,000 euros.

Individual silver medalists will receive 58,125 euros (coach 55,500), and bronze 49,250 (coach 47,000).

In team sports, the team will receive 390,000 euros for gold (leadership 171,000), 318,750 for silver (leadership 140,250), and 267,500 for bronze (leadership 118,500).

The meeting was also attended by the Minister of Economy, Tourism and Sport Matjaž Han, who said that the ten-year national program will be adopted in the autumn.

Han and Bobinac highlighted the good cooperation between the Slovenian Olympic movement, the ministry, and the government over the past two years, since sport was moved to the new ministry from the Ministry of Education.
