(Patria) - Sloga's footballers advanced to the semi-finals of the BiH Cup after eliminating Željezničar in the second leg of the quarter-finals in Doboj tonight with a better penalty shootout performance.
The hero for the home team was goalkeeper Filip Erić, who saved two shots in the penalty shootout, thus taking Sloga among the top four teams in the competition.
The first half offered few excitements. Almost half an hour of play passed without any serious chances.
The first real situation occurred in the 33rd minute when Alić shot powerfully from about twenty meters, but Erić was safe in the home team's goal.
In the 39th minute, Peixoto scored into Sloga's net, but the goal was disallowed due to an offside position the Brazilian was in when Galchev took the shot.
Shortly after, one of Sloga's defenders cleared the ball in front of Peixoto, preventing an almost certain goal, but in the 43rd minute, the home team still had no solution.
Milošević then brilliantly backheeled to Alić, who came alone against Erić from the right side and routinely scored to give Željezničar a 1-0 lead.
In the second half, Željezničar continued to be the more concrete and dangerous opponent. Radovac missed a great chance in the 50th minute, while ten minutes later, Jaganjac's shot was blocked by Milanović.
However, after reviewing the footage from the VAR room, referee Sivac awarded a penalty to the visitors because it was determined that Milanović had handled the ball to stop the Blues' striker's shot.
Alić took responsibility but hit the crossbar and missed the opportunity to decide the winner.
Željezničar continued to press until the 80th minute, but without concrete results, and then Sloga broke free from the pressure and threatened in the 88th minute through Vidić, whose shot hit only the outer part of the net.
As there was no change in the score after 90 minutes, the winner was decided by a penalty shootout, where Sloga's players were more successful and secured a place in the semi-finals of the Cup of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
For Sloga, Mehmedović, Dejanović, Vidić, and Perković scored from the penalty spot, while Tatar and Omić were unsuccessful.
On the other hand, for Željezničar, Krpić, Alić, Erick, and Nastić were accurate, while Husković, Galchev, and Šabić were inaccurate.
