Slaviša Stojanović is no longer the coach of FK Željezničar

(Patria) - Željezničar and Slaviša Stojanović have mutually terminated their cooperation, and the head of the "Blues" – Sanin Mirvić – has commented on the entire situation. We are publishing their statement in full.

“Dear members, fans, and friends of the Club,

I wish to inform you and the public that after open and fair discussions with the head of the professional staff, Slaviša Stojanović, we have made a mutual decision to terminate our cooperation. We thank Mr. Stojanović for his professional attitude, effort, and contribution during his time at our Club, and we wish him much luck and success in his future career. We are aware that we put Mr. Stojanović in a situation where achieving success as the coach of Željezničar in such a short period was an extremely difficult mission. Bearing this in mind, the responsibility for the results since the beginning of the second part of the season lies equally with the Club and Mr. Stojanović.

At the same time, I feel it is necessary to point out that in the past month and a half since taking over the management of the Club, we have made significant and fundamental progress. We have conducted a full financial audit and overall stabilization, paid off a large portion of inherited debts, all old debts to players, coaches, and all other employees, so we currently have no obligations in that regard. Likewise, we have paid two salaries, three months of taxes and contributions in less than twenty days, so as of today, February 22nd, only the February salary remains unpaid. I must state that we have also settled all current obligations and met all conditions for obtaining a license without agreements or any reprogrammings. We have implemented a complete new systematization, hired new operational staff, terminated commercial contracts in the marketing and sponsorship segments that were not profitable for the Club, and signed new long-term contracts based on strategic and sustainable cooperation. In the transfer window, we brought in seven new players despite an extremely poor market and have already invested significant capital in the Club – even though the competent ministry has not yet approved and adopted the Club's new statute. Everything was done without any formal coverage, exclusively for the benefit of FK Željezničar.

We are aware that many of these things are not currently visible outside the Club. This is foundational work whose results will only become apparent in the period to come. However, what is currently not at the level we all expect is the play and the results on the field. That is precisely why we are making difficult but responsible decisions.

There is no surrender. We move forward, even more intensely and decisively, in order to bring the most important segment of the Club – the sporting result – to the expected level and to the level that FK Željezničar deserves and naturally belongs to. It takes time, because any serious and strategic work requires a certain period for results to become visible. And that moment will come soon.

The current focus is on improving the play and the overall sporting product on the field, because we all agree that not only the results, but also the approach, commitment, and professional attitude of individuals must be at a significantly higher level. We will not stop until we turn the situation around and until we are competitive – not only for the title in Bosnia and Herzegovina, but also for a dignified representation of the Club in European competitions.

On this occasion, I would like to thank the members of the Management Board, all employees, operational staff, and associates at the Club for their dedicated work and support, and I wish them much success in the next steps we are taking together.
