Shane Larkin says goodbye to Turkish national team

(Patria) - Anadolu Efes basketball player Shane Larkin announced on social media that he will no longer wear the jersey of the Turkish national team.

The news disappointed and saddened Turkish fans after their national team was defeated in the EuroBasket final by Germany with a score of 83:88.

One of the key players in coach Ergin Ataman's squad decided to end his international career. He communicated this decision, as we already mentioned, on social media.

"Seven years ago, I agreed to play for Turkey without any expectations. And seven years later, I feel like it's my second home.

Although we did not achieve the main goal, which was the gold medal, the support we received throughout the country meant more than just a medal.

It was an honor and a privilege to wear this jersey and play for Turkey. I will forever be one of you! I love you with all my heart," Larkin said.

Larkin was one of the best Turkish basketball players at EuroBasket. He averaged 11.6 points and 5.1 assists per game.
