Advice for drivers: Which phrases you should avoid when visiting a mechanic

(Patria) - Have you recently taken your vehicle to a mechanic for a check-up before a long trip or vehicle registration?

If the answer is yes, we hope you didn't use some of those phrases that mechanic Ahmed Ibrahim warns about on his YouTube channel "The Car Care Nut", as reported by Slobodna Dalmacija.

Ibrahim, namely, shared with his followers four phrases that drivers should never say to the mechanic they take their car to for repairs.

- Do not come to the workshop and say you need "servicing." Any honest mechanic will tell you that modern cars don't need that because all faults are found automatically, on computers. However, if your mechanic is not so ethical, they can "sell" you whatever they want under the guise of service - says Ibrahim.

Also, you should not tell mechanics that you are an expert, and that you have repaired cars yourself in the past.

Ibrahim also warns that, if you don't know much about cars, at least try not to say that in front of the mechanic, because they might charge you a higher price, and you wouldn't have a clue.

Finally, he advised drivers to always be honest and say what they did when they take the car for repair, because that way the fault will be fixed best and fastest.

- If you want the mechanic to be honest, you should be too, don't hide anything from your mechanic - added Ibrahim.
