Sarajevo Airport breaks record: Served 1,500,000 passengers as of yesterday

(Patria) - Sarajevo International Airport is operating at its best since its founding. The number of passengers passing through the airport has never been higher, so even now, two and a half months before the New Year, it can be concluded that records have been broken.

Namely, as of yesterday, Sarajevo Airport served 1,500,000 passengers, which is an absolute record. Since the beginning of the year, Sarajevo Airport has recorded an increase in the number of passengers every month compared to previous years.
The previous record was 1.37 million passengers in one year.

The highest number of passengers passed through the airport in July, 269,161. Due to all this, the airport can expect to reach the figure of two million passengers by the end of December.

The increase in the number of passengers is directly related to the establishment of new direct routes, from Bergamo, Memmingen, Brussels, Warsaw, and so on. This was also contributed by subsidies from the Sarajevo Canton for airlines establishing new routes, and it is expected that this project will continue.
