(Patria) - Basketball Club Bosna Sarajevo said goodbye to the continuation of the FIBA Europe Cup competition tonight.
In the second leg of the quarter-finals, the Students could not overcome the 15-point deficit from the first match played seven days ago against the Hungarian team Szombathely.
Bosna won tonight in Zetra with a score of 78:70, but it was not enough for them to advance to the semi-finals due to a larger defeat in the first match when Szombathely triumphed 81:66.
The guests started the game better and took a 14:10 lead after the first quarter, but Bosna turned the game around with a great performance and went into halftime with a 37:25 lead.
The Students maintained their lead, but could not reach the desired +16.
With five minutes left, Bosna led 71:58, but after that, Szombathely did not allow the difference to increase.
The match ended with a Pyrrhic victory for the Sarajevo team with a score of 78:70.
The most effective players for Bosna were Alfonso Plummer (20 points) and Michael Young (18), while Bendek Varadi (23) stood out for the Hungarians.
Szombathely will play against Spanish Bilbao in the semi-finals of the FIBA Europe Cup.
