Sarajevo convincingly against Velež, victory brings Bordo team closer to Europe

(Patria) - Tonight at Koševo, the derby of the 29th round of the WWin League of Bosnia and Herzegovina was played between the teams of Sarajevo and Velež.

In the end, the footballers of the “Bordo club” had more reasons to celebrate, as they won 3:0.

The match could not have started better for the home side. Already in the 42nd second, after an excellent run by Čataković down the right side, Oliveira scored for 1:0, reports scsport.ba.

It was expected that the game would heat up from the very start on both sides, but unfortunately, that was not the case. Throughout the first half, play was mostly in the middle of the field, tight and cautious.

It was more interesting in the stands. Namely, the most ardent Sarajevo fans decided to leave “Koševo” immediately after entering the north stand, which was as late as the 20th minute. The reason for this was a protest against the rigorous, senseless and unnecessary checks by the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Sarajevo Canton for home fans, similar to those at the recently played Sarajevo derby at “Grbavica”.

Not much happened on the field, so the half-time break came with Sarajevo's minimal lead of 1:0.

The second half started a bit more openly on both sides, especially from Velež. First, Anđušić shot straight at Hadžikić after a solo run, and then Džafić also had two good chances, but without success.

And while it was expected that Velež would become more offensive, Sarajevo scored the second goal. Čataković shot well from 16 meters and scored his 14th goal of the season.

In the 73rd minute, Šikalo wasted an excellent chance for the visitors. He wanted to finish the action himself and earned criticism from his teammates.

In the 81st minute, a penalty for Velež after a foul by the home defense in their own penalty area. Hrkać took the ball, but Iliev saved his shot.

In the final moments of the match, we saw another good attempt by Haskić in the 90th minute, but his shot from ten meters went over the goal.

And just when the end was expected, after a counterattack, Kyeremeh passed to Hasić, who scored for 3:0 and Sarajevo's victory.
