(Patria) – A commemoration for sports journalist and commentator Edin Avdić, who passed away last week at the age of 47, was held today at the National Theatre Sarajevo.
Among those present were his colleagues and friends, as well as numerous sports figures from the region, including Željko Obradović, Nenad Marković, Mirza Teletović and Dževad Alihodžić.

FIBA Europe President and celebrated basketball player Dejan Bodiroga said that Avdić was “more than a journalist,” highlighting his authentic style and special contribution to basketball.
The Mayor of Sarajevo and former basketball player Samir Avdić emphasised that Edin Avdić was a rare combination of a top basketball expert and a man who lived together with sport and athletes.
His former colleague Medina Šehić said that she will remember him for his kindness, smile and professionalism.
The most emotional was Mirza Teletović:
"Today I do not hide my tears, which are heavy and sincere. His premature departure is unfair and it is difficult to accept that he is no longer with us. He left behind not a void, but unforgettable memories. He taught us how to love life and sport. We will miss you, my friend - said the former captain of the Bosnia and Herzegovina national basketball team.

The funeral prayer and burial of Edin Avdić will be held today at 2:30 PM at the Bare Cemetery.
