Sarajevo secured the BiH Cup semi-finals with an excellent performance in Mostar

(Patria) - Football Club Sarajevo has advanced to the semi-finals of the BiH Cup, after eliminating Zrinjski in Mostar tonight with an aggregate score of 2:1.

The 'Bordo' team was better than Zrinjski in the second leg of the quarter-finals tonight, winning 1:0 away. Given that the first match at Košev was a draw (1:1), Sarajevo won the two-legged tie 2:1 and secured a place among the top four teams in Bosnia and Herzegovina's most popular football competition.

The visitors had their first great chance in the 9th minute. Guliashvili escaped Zrinjski's defense but was not accurate. He missed the target from a promising position, writes Faktor.ba.

Two minutes later, Bubanja shot powerfully from about 20 meters, but Marić saved his goal with a superb save.

The 'Bordo' team took the lead on their third chance. Beganović headed the ball down for Guliashvili, who scored past the helpless Marić with his first touch.



The visitors had another chance in the 25th minute. Lulić shot directly at Marić, although he had better options.

In the very next attack, it was dangerous in front of Sarajevo's goal. Topić's shot was blocked, and Rogić saved Mulahusejnović's attempt.

Sarajevo could have scored a second goal towards the end of the first half. Referee Njegomirović awarded a foul on the edge of the penalty area. However, after a VAR review, he changed his decision and pointed to the penalty spot.

Guliashvili placed the ball on the spot and shot powerfully, but goalkeeper Marić saved his shot with a panther-like intervention.



At the start of the second half, Mulahusejnović tried with a header, but the ball went wide of Sarajevo's goal.

On the other side, in the 57th minute, another clear chance in front of Zrinjski's goal. The visitors launched a counter-attack, Guliashvili shot, and goalkeeper Marić saved his attempt. The Georgian was selfish this time, as he had better options.

In the 72nd minute, Sarajevo had a one-on-one counter-attack, but Guliashvili ruined another great opportunity. He ran alone towards Marić, but Malekinušić caught up and managed to clear the ball for a corner.



Two minutes later, a good move by Zrinjski, but Rogić stopped Topić's attempt.

All of Zrinjski's hopes for a penalty were extinguished in the 87th minute when referee Njegomirović sent off Savić after a VAR review.
