Sarajevo to host European Kickboxing Cup in April

(Patria) - Bosnia and Herzegovina will host a major sporting event in mid-April, where kickboxers from all over Europe will compete for the title of the best. Namely, the European Kickboxing Cup will be held in the capital of BiH from April 11 to 14, 2024, which is also included in the official calendar of the World Kickboxing Association, which has over 120 members on all five continents (WAKO).

The organizer of this top sporting event at Arena Hills in Ilidža is the Kickboxing Academy “Ilidža”, successfully led by Nermin Bašović for years. - Getting the organization of the European Cup is a great recognition for the Kickboxing Federation of BiH and the Kickboxing Academy Ilidža, but also for sport in BiH.

This great recognition came to us from the European Kickboxing Federation, and we are glad that we will be organizing the European Cup for cadets, juniors, and seniors for the second year in a row. We hope to organize the competition at a top level, as we did last year, when we received praise from the European Kickboxing Federation.

We expect 1,000 competitors from 20 countries to participate. Such a large competition requires impeccable organization, which we would not have managed to achieve without the support of the project's friends: the Municipality of Ilidža, the Ministry of Culture and Sports of Sarajevo Canton, the Tourist Board of Sarajevo Canton, the Federal Ministry of Culture and Sports, and BH Telecom. We have been organizing this tournament for 18 years, and in April, a big task awaits us so that we can all enjoy top fights of medal winners at Balkan, European, and World Championships.
