
(Patria) - The handball national team of Bosnia and Herzegovina tonight demolished the selection of Kosovo in Tuzla's Mejdan.
The final score of the first pre-playoff match for qualification to the World Championship was 34:21 (15:13).
The Dragons started the match brilliantly and took a 9:3 lead, but a drastic drop in their play followed. The guests slowly melted the lead and even equalized at 11:11 in the 24th minute.
However, the national team of Bosnia and Herzegovina managed to end the first half with a 15:13 lead.
In the second half, a much better performance by the players of coach Damir Doborac followed, who constantly increased the lead.
In the 28th minute, after a 5-0 run, the Dragons took a 26:18 lead, and it became clear that victory would not slip from their hands.
In the end, the match concluded with a convincing victory for the Dragons with a score of 34:21.
The top scorer for our team was Mislav Grgić with eight goals, while Drenit Tahirukaj stood out for Kosovo with six.
The second leg will be played in three days in Pristina. The winner of this two-match tie will play against the Faroe Islands in the playoff for World Cup qualification.
