(Patria) - In the first match of Group A at the Olympic Games, Spain and Slovenia faced off, with Spain ultimately winning 25:22.
Slovenia started the match excellently with a three-goal lead, and maintained the advantage throughout the entire first half, going into the break with an 11:8 lead.
However, Spain fought back in the second half, taking the lead at 17:16 after the 44th minute, going on a 3:0 run to reach a 19:16 advantage. Slovenia was unable to recover until the end of the match, so Spain recorded a 25:22 victory.
It should be noted that the hero for Spain was Gonzalo Perez de Vargas, the fantastic goalkeeper who made 15 saves.
