Rudy Gay ends career after 17 seasons in the NBA

(Patria) - American basketball player Rudy Gay (38) has decided to end his playing career and retires after 17 seasons on NBA courts.

In the 2006 draft, Houston selected this forward as the eighth pick, but Gay was immediately traded to Memphis, where he stayed until 2013.

He then went to Toronto, then Sacramento, for which he played until 2017, and to San Antonio, where he was a member until 2021.

The last jersey he wore was that of the Utah Jazz from 2021 to 2023. Last summer, he signed a contract with Golden State, but did not play for them.

In the NBA, he played more than a thousand games, averaging 15.8 points per game along with 5.6 rebounds.

He was a member of the US national team that won gold medals at the World Championships in Turkey and Spain in 2010 and 2014.
