Rožman: I expect great support, the fans have always been the wind at our backs

(Patria) - Sarajevo footballers face a new match against Borac in the return leg of the quarter-finals of the Bosnia and Herzegovina Cup tomorrow.

Coach Simon Rožman stated that Sarajevo has a recipe for the Banja Luka side, as reported by Sport 1, that they are the only team this season that has not lost to Borac, but he also emphasizes that he wants football to win, not some non-football things.

“It is known that the champion has been decided in the league. Borac will certainly be the champion, but we can stand in their way in the Cup. There are many details we know about each other. It should be emphasized that we are the only ones in the league that they have not beaten; we have played three matches, three draws. I expect another uncertain match this time.

I also expect great support; the fans have always been the wind at our backs, and that could be decisive in this uncertain match. We have three minor issues regarding players. Today, after training, we will decide who will start. We have a strategy prepared for this match, I believe in this team; this match showed a lot of good things.

I am sorry that the result did not reward us; we created many good chances. I believe in the team; I think we are the ones who can stand in their way at a given moment; all matches were good. In the end, I want football to decide, for us to enjoy the content, and not for it to be some things that I as a coach or the players cannot influence,” said Simon Rožman at the press conference.

Rožman emphasizes that Sarajevo is not focusing only on the cup at this moment, but that the league is also very important.

“Believe me, we will go into every match head-on. My experience is that calculations never turn out the way you imagined. On both fronts, we want to do better than so far. I have watched all the matches in the entire league; everything is within 5 percent. The energy that was on the field against Igman, the chances, give us a lot of faith and hope, even though on the other side there is a team full of confidence and on a run of good results, but I think it will be difficult for them at Koševo.”

The Sarajevo coach then also spoke about Borac itself.

“A very disciplined team in defense; they drop a low block a lot on the side; it is difficult to break them down 2 on 2. You can see confidence in defense; they are good in transition; Lukić is the target man, he carries a lot; Kvržić is the team leader. There are many good things, but again I think we were at least equal in all matches, even much better in some matches, but other things influenced us not achieving a good result.”

Sarajevo played the finish of the match against Igman exactly as they would always like to play, and when asked if it can always be like that, Rožman says:

“I watched the match several times with the staff; we analyzed everything. There were also many good situations before that didn't look so good at first glance, but we had situations to finish the match earlier. Our goal is to always be like that, but the opponent also has a say. If they are in a low block, you always have to start a continuous attack from the back line and always run into their block. But yes, our goal is to be more vertical, more direct, faster.”

Tomorrow's match Sarajevo – Borac starts at 5:30 PM, with a live TV broadcast on the Arena 1 Premium channel.
