(Patria) - Captain of the BiH national football team Edin Džeko is the new member of the German second division club Schalke. This information was confirmed by the famous sports journalist Fabrizio Romano with the words "Here we go".
Džeko and Fiorentina mutually parted ways, which facilitated his move to Schalke, as the leader of "Zwate" did not have to pay compensation.
He accepted the invitation of BiH expert Miron Muslić, who desperately wanted Džeko, and he personally made several calls to persuade him.
Besides Muslić, Džeko will also be welcomed by Nikola Katić, a BiH national team player, at Schalke.
Džeko will land in Germany tonight, reports transfer insider Nicolo Schira.
Medical examinations and contract signing with Schalke are expected. The contract will be signed until the summer of 2027, according to the same source.
Otherwise, Džeko signed for Fiorentina last summer, but that move turned out to be wrong as he was secondary to both coaches - Stefan Pioli and Paolo Vanoli.
Džeko returns to Germany after 15 years. He left Wolfsburg in January 2011 and signed for Manchester City in a transfer worth 37 million euros.
