Rijeka-born Filip Dangubić arrives at Željezničar: It's a great motivation to join this club

(Patria) - Now former Kauno Žalgiris striker, Filip Dangubić (29), is the new player of Željezničar, and he signed a one-year contract with an option for automatic extension for another year.

Filip Dangubić was born on May 5, 1995, in Rijeka. He came up through HNK Rijeka, from which he played on loan at Pomorac, Krka, Krško, and Celje. From the Rijeka team, he then moved to Spartak Trnava, and in Slovakia, he also played for Senica. This was followed by a move to Romania, where he wore the jerseys of Chindia and UTA Arad, and between those two clubs, he had a great season in Celje. Since January 2023, he has been in Lithuania. He first played for Hegelmann, and since March of this year, he has been a member of Kauno Žalgiris, for whom he scored 12 goals.

Dangubić plays as a central striker and can cover several other offensive positions. He scored 30 goals in the Slovenian Prva Liga, 28 goals in the Lithuanian championship, and also found the net in the Romanian Super Liga, Slovenian, Lithuanian, and Slovak Cups, as well as in the qualifiers for the Champions League and Europa League.

"I am happy to be here, negotiations lasted a long time, and I am glad that everything ended with me joining such a club, and I can't wait for my first training session and the first match. I know a lot about the club, I follow Balkan football, and I inquired further. One of the biggest clubs from the former country, certainly the biggest in BiH. It's a great motivation to come here and be a part of this story. I've been in rhythm since March, so there will be no problems with physical fitness, and I hope to transfer my goal-scoring form to the field as I had there," said Dangubić.
