BiH representatives returned from the World ITF Taekwondo Championship with four medals

(Patria) - The World ITF Taekwondo Championship, which gathered nearly 2,500 participants from 57 countries worldwide, concluded yesterday in Poreč.

Bosnia and Herzegovina was represented by 28 competitors in all age categories (pre-juniors, juniors, and seniors), and our national team was led by selector Nijaz Džaka and coaches Samir Topić, Nenad Jerinić, and Ajdin Salčin.

Our country's team won a total of four medals. Two junior gold medals were won by Melina Ružnić (-61 kg) and Mehmed Krupić (-71 kg), while Lamija Šabović won a bronze medal in the pre-junior category up to 44 kilograms.

The bronze medal won by Ivana Ilić in the senior category (+75 kg) also confirmed that the BiH national team has quality and continuity.

It is particularly significant that medals were won in all three age categories, which clearly demonstrates the perspective and strength of our national team, as well as the successful work of coaches and clubs operating within the ITF Taekwondo Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The European Taekwondo Federation (AETF) has shown additional trust in Bosnia and Herzegovina by awarding the organization of one of the four ranking tournaments in Europe to Sarajevo, scheduled for early next year under the name "Sarajevo Open".

"We thank the Federal Ministry of Culture and Sports and the Taekwondo Federation of FBiH for their support, which enabled the national team's participation in the World Championship," stated the ITF Taekwondo Federation of BiH.
