(Patria) - The Bosnia and Herzegovina sitting volleyball team has become European champion for the 12th time in history.
The Bosnia and Herzegovina sitting volleyball team celebrated victory in the grand final of the European Championship against the German selection.
The Ljiljani won without losing a set, thus confirming their dominance on the Old Continent once again!
Germany was a worthy opponent and held the lead on several occasions, but the Bosnian selection simply had more experience and quality.
This gold for Bosnia and Herzegovina was won by: Ismet Godinjak, Adnan Manko, Stevan Crnobrnja, Armin Šehić, Asim Medić, Mirzet Duran, Nizam Čančar, Dževad Hamzić, Edin Đino, Safet Alibašić, Sabahudin Delalić, Ermin Jusufović and Elvis Šerifović.
They were led from the bench by Ifet Mahmutović, who thus secured another medal at a major competition.
Before this medal, Bosnia and Herzegovina had been champion of the Old Continent 11 times, in 1999, 2001, 2003, 2005, 2007, 2009, 2011, 2013, 2015, 2021 and 2023!
Only the Russian selection prevented complete dominance from 1999 to the present day. Russia triumphed in 2017 and 2019.
In addition, Bosnia and Herzegovina has one silver medal from 2019 and two bronze medals from 1997 and 2017.
As for other competitions, Bosnia and Herzegovina has been world champion three times - in 2002, 2006 and 2014.
