Renovation of 'Santiago Bernabeu' will cost as much as 1.8 billion euros

(Patria) - The renovation of the "Santiago Bernabeu" stadium will cost incomparably more than planned, announced Spanish economist Hector Mohedano.

The Madrid club announced plans in 2017 for the renovation of their stadium, and it was supposed to be opened last summer. However, the deadline has now been moved to next summer.

Instead of the planned costs of one billion euros, the renovation will cost an incredible 1.8 billion euros.

The stadium has received a retractable roof, large scoreboards, and a pitch that can be adapted for various sports, from football to basketball and tennis.

For example, basketball and tennis can be played on it at the same time. As part of the renovation, numerous shops, cafes, and a hotel have also been built.

Real has announced that this is a stadium of the 21st century and an example of the digital future.

In addition to all of the above, the pitch can be automatically folded and stacked vertically in a special chamber located below the surface of the pitch, right next to the lowest tier of the stands.

The "Bernabeu" pitch in this deep chamber has all the necessary conditions to remain in perfect condition; from ventilation and irrigation systems to ultraviolet light treatment that simulates the sun.

The sight of the stadium being unfolded and folded is particularly attractive. The stadium also features a 360-degree video display.
