(Patria) - Three days after a draw with English Crystal Palace, Zrinjski players in Mostar on Sunday, in the last match of the 22nd round of the BiH football league, again played 1:1, this time against the team of Široki Brijeg.
The home team took the lead from a penalty kick scored by Matej Šakota (52nd minute), and Mato Stanić set the final score of 1:1 with a goal in the 59th minute.
The Mostar team started the match with the lineup Karačić, Memija, Savić, Dujmović, Mamić, Ivančić, Lagumdžija, Šakota, Nalić, Mikić, Jurić, while Široki Brijeg started with Josipović, Bagarić, Šuto, M. Stanić, M. Matić, Gagula, Marsinjo, Sobol, Tomić, P. Stanić, and Klepač.
The home team was better in the first twenty minutes, during which Adi Nalić's chance stood out, as he was not agile enough in a one-on-one duel with the visiting goalkeeper Renato Josipović. Široki Brijeg responded with chances from Ilija Bagarić and Mihael Klepač, but the current champions had the last word in the first half.
First, Tomi Jurić hit the post in the 45th minute, and a few minutes later, Dan Lagumdžija was slightly inaccurate with a header.
The second half saw more engaging play that brought new chances, but also two goals. The first, with an effective shot from the penalty spot, was scored by the home team's offensive player Matej Šakota, and the second, equalizing goal, was the work of Mato Stanić in the 59th minute, after a poor reaction from the home goalkeeper Karačić to Hubert Sobol's shot.
This was the 15th consecutive match in which Zrinjski did not lose to Široki Brijeg.
On Friday, Sloga lost to Borac 0:4 in Doboj, after which Velež defeated Željezničar 1:0 on Saturday, Rudar and Radnik played goalless, and Sarajevo was convincing against Posušje (3:0).
Borac leads the table with 50 points, six more than Zrinjski, who plays the return leg of the Conference League 1/16 finals against Palace in London on Thursday, while third-placed Sarajevo has 38 points.
Velež is fourth with 32 points, followed by Široki Brijeg (30), Željezničar (25), Radnik (22), and Posušje (21). Second-to-last Sloga has 19 points, as does last-placed Rudar.
