Real Madrid is the 36th-time champion of Spain

(Patria) - Barcelona was defeated tonight away at Girona (4:2) in the 34th round of the Spanish championship, thus enabling Real Madrid to theoretically secure their 36th Spanish championship title.

Barcelona led twice in Girona, but still lost.

Christensen scored in the 3rd minute to give the visitors the lead, but Dovbik equalized in the next attack.

Lewandowski put Barcelona back in front with a penalty goal in first-half stoppage time.

The key moment of the match occurred in the 65th minute when Michel brought Portu into the game. He was on the field for only a few seconds before Dovbik set him up for an easy goal to make it 2:2.

Two minutes later, Portu assisted Gutierrez for 3:2, and in the 74th minute, he confirmed Girona's victory with a beautiful goal.

Girona thus overtook Barcelona in second place and allowed Real Madrid fans to celebrate big, as they had crushed Cadiz 3:0 earlier today.
