(Patria) - Spanish first division club Real Madrid is at the top of the list of the most valuable football teams in the world for the fourth year in a row.
Business magazine Forbes announced on Friday that Real Madrid is worth 6.75 billion dollars, which is two percent more than last year.
Real has become the first football club to earn a billion dollars in a single year, after achieving a record 1.13 billion dollars in revenue in the 2023/24 season, Forbes writes.
The Spanish club, the second sports team in history to reach the 10-digit threshold after the NFL team Dallas Cowboys, is the first football team to record a billion euros in revenue in one season, Deloitte announced earlier this year.
English Manchester United is second on Forbes' list with an estimated 6.6 billion dollars after achieving revenue of 834 million dollars in the 2023/24 season, despite finishing the league in eighth place at the time.
Barcelona, Real's rival in La Liga, is third, estimated at 5.65 billion dollars, while Liverpool and Manchester City are fourth and fifth. Sixth is Bayern Munich, followed by PSG.
Forbes named six English Premier League teams among the 10 most valuable teams, with Arsenal, Tottenham, and Chelsea coming after PSG.
"Together, the 30 most valuable football teams are worth more than 72 billion dollars, or an average of 2.4 billion dollars, which is five percent more than the record 2.26 billion dollars from 2024," Forbes writes.
