(Patria) - Velež players have qualified for the semi-finals of the BiH Cup.
After winning the first match, the "Rođeni" (Born) outplayed Sarajevo again tonight in front of their home crowd in Mostar - the score was 4:1. The aggregate score of the two-leg tie was 5:1.
Although the match started calmly, the visitors struck first. It was the 13th minute when Menalo broke through on the left flank and sent in a precise cross, and Carlos found himself best positioned in the six-yard box and headed home for 0:1.
The middle of the first half was marked by a controversial situation in the 27th minute. Referee Petrović initially showed Meite a red card, but after VAR intervention, the decision was overturned, and the visitors remained with a full squad on the field.
Sarajevo's joy was short-lived, as Velež completely turned the score around in the span of just five minutes.
In the 33rd minute, Pidro crossed, Salčin assisted with a header, and Spahić scored for the equalizer.
Already in the 38th minute, Nukić caught a rebound on the edge of the penalty area, the ball hit Meite, deceived goalkeeper Banić, and ended up in the net for 2:1.
In the second half, the Mostar team routinely finished the job. In the 61st minute, Milak unleashed a spectacular shot from an angle on the left, hitting the opposite top corner for an unassailable 3:1 lead.
Hrkać delivered the final blow to the visitors in the 71st minute. Previously, Ivanišević fouled substitute Mešić in the penalty area, and Hrkać was accurate from the penalty spot, leading to great celebrations for the Mostar fans and a sure path to the semi-finals.
