Radnik and Sarajevo share points in Bijeljina

(Patria) - Radnik and Sarajevo shared points in Bijeljina (2:2), and there will again be much discussion about the refereeing decisions. The visiting players were particularly, and we would say justifiably, dissatisfied with the decisions.

From the very start of the match, it was clear that Sarajevo would try to open up the home side through possession and thus threaten them.

However, Radnik, known for their responsible play, were in their element tonight. And it was the home side who threatened first, in the 5th minute when the net of Sarajevo was shaken after a set piece. Teodorović scored, but the goal was disallowed for offside.

The 15th minute saw Sarajevo threaten. It was a good attack finished by Guliashvili with a shot from 18 metres, but he was not accurate.

Five minutes later, the Georgian crossed well from the left side, but Elezi was slightly late. Shortly after, Mamas also tried from the edge of the penalty area but was not accurate.

In the 30th minute, great celebration for the visiting fans, but it was short-lived. Guliashvili crossed from a corner, the ball reached Bralić, who with a sharp cross found Mlinarić. He hit the net, but VAR intervened. Martinović went to review the situation and ruled a handball by Bralić.

In the 37th minute, the best chance for the visitors. After a cross, the ball came to Kyeremeh, who shot poorly from five metres. He missed the entire goal.

Then came the punishment. Four minutes later, a major mistake by Mamas, who completely missed the ball in front of his own goal after a pass from Beganović.

The ball reached Ghorzi, who accepted the gift and turned it into a lead for his team.

Beganović and Guliashvili tried from distance, but Lakić was on the spot. Just before the end of the first half, Gogić hit the net for Sarajevo, but offside was called. The check in the VAR van took a long time, and eventually the assistant referee's decision was confirmed.

At the start of the second half, Radnik threatened through Črnko. He shot superbly from 20 metres, but the post was Sarajevo's ally.

In the 57th minute, the equaliser. Kuprešak took a free kick from the right side, the ball went through a forest of legs and ended up in the net of Radnik's goal.

The same player shot five minutes later, but the ball went just over the goal. And when Sarajevo were dominating, Radnik took the lead again.

An almost harmless situation in front of Sarajevo's goal. Kyeremeh was in a duel with Teodorović, he knocked the ball away, and Martinović signalled a foul for Sarajevo.

However, VAR intervened. The decision was long awaited, and after several minutes Martinović was called to review the controversial situation. While his colleagues watched for a couple of minutes, it took him about fifteen seconds to make a decision. He pointed to the spot, and this situation will certainly be the subject of analysis by experts.

Čumić placed the ball on the spot and scored confidently for 2:1.

But the home side's luck did not last long. Just a few minutes later, another equaliser. Beganović handled a through ball well, passed it back to Kyeremeh, who scored for 2:2, which would later prove to be the final result.

Sarajevo dominated until the end, looking for a third goal, but they did not score. It should be noted that Sarajevo players twice asked for a penalty, but Martinović and the VAR team did not share that opinion.

The visitors appealed for handball; in the first case, VAR did not even intervene, and in the second, they reviewed the controversial situation in the van and informed Martinović that there was no penalty.

There will certainly be much discussion about these decisions, but one thing is certain: the Sarajevo clubs have no protection in the Football Association of Bosnia and Herzegovina, and we have the impression that referees often take out their frustrations on the giants of our football.

Until when? As long as Sarajevo and Željezničar, as well as the fans of these two clubs, allow it.
