Formula 1 car to be driven on the streets of BiH for the first time in history

(Patria) - For the first time in history, a Formula 1 car will be driven on the streets of Bosnia and Herzegovina. Red Bull Showrun Sarajevo will be held on Sunday, June 9, in the capital of our country and will transform the urban spaces of Sarajevo into a unique stage for an automotive performance during which the legendary Red Bull Racing Formula 1 car will provide a memorable day for all visitors.

The supporting program will include musical performances, as well as appearances by the famous German duo Red Bull Driftbrothers, and stunt rider Aras Gibiež. Legendary F1 driver David Coulthard sent his message to the citizens of Sarajevo on behalf of Red Bull Racing, emphasizing that Sarajevo is one of only nine cities in the world to host a Red Bull Showrun.

"You have won our hearts with your rich culture, vibrant history, and the special spirit of the people in this region will make the event even more special," Coulthard said.

Emphasizing that Red Bull Showrun is a top combination of motorsport, music, and excitement, Jadran Crnogorac, representing the organizers, pointed out that the car will travel a route from Marijin Dvor to Mašinska škola and back past the National Museum of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

"Bosnia and Herzegovina and Sarajevo certainly deserve such events, and this is our tribute to the city. We want to especially thank our sponsors and partners, without whose support the realization of such a large project would certainly not have been possible," said Crnogorac, adding that watching this adrenaline spectacle will be free for all visitors and fans. However, a certain number of tickets for the Fun Pit zone and VIP seats in the stands will soon be available for purchase for those who want the best possible view of the track.

The Minister of Transport of KS, Adnan Šteta, emphasized that he is happy that the KS Government and the Ministry have created an environment through their work for such events to happen in Sarajevo and that the Red Bull team has recognized this.

"I am proud that we will be part of a global project. A car will pass on our roads for the first time, and we are eagerly awaiting June.

We are preparing so that everything will be perfect. We will not reveal some things, there will be many surprises, and we will provide full support to send another phenomenal image from Sarajevo to the whole world," stated Minister Šteta.

The Minister of Culture and Sports of KS, Kenan Magoda, said that there are many events and projects that the ministry will support this year, but that "Red Bull Showrun Sarajevo 2024" is one of the most significant.

"A full-day world-class event awaits us, full of sports, cultural, and musical activities. This is happening in Sarajevo for the first time, and we believe it will be a complete spectacle for everyone present and everyone watching on television and online platforms.

The area in and around the National Museum will be the center of events on June 9, which is why today, symbolically from our museum, we are sending a message that Sarajevo deserves to be on the list of the biggest events in the region and the world," said Magoda.

"This is a world show, an extremely high-quality and important event, and we are honored that it is happening in Sarajevo. The KS Tourist Board continuously supports projects that present Sarajevo as a cultural, historical, musical, gastronomic, and of course, sports metropolis, from which we send positive vibes to attract tourists, and of course, ensure a pleasant stay for all those who come to various competitions or events.

We wish the participants a special and exciting stay in Sarajevo," emphasized the President of the KS Tourist Board, Haris Fazlagić.

The main part of the Red Bull Showrun, which includes the car driving in the city center, is planned from 2 PM to 4 PM on Sunday, June 9, but the organizer states that a full-day entertainment program with concerts and after-parties is planned so that visitors have a fulfilling and fun day in Sarajevo.

Over 50,000 spectators from Bosnia and Herzegovina, the region, and the world are expected at the event, and all those who cannot join on location will be able to enjoy the live TV broadcast on Sport Klub.

The project will be realized with the support of the Ministry of Transport of KS, the Ministry of Culture and Sports of KS, the KS Tourist Board, and the companies Bingo, Hifa Petrol, Telemach, and Alta.
