(Patria) - The Indirect Taxation Authority (ITA) announced that indirect tax revenues in the first three months of 2024 amounted to 2 billion and 630 million KM, an increase of 8.29% or 201 million KM compared to the same period in 2023.
After the ITA returned 523 million KM to the economy in the first three months of 2024 based on VAT refunds, net collected revenues distributed to beneficiaries—namely the state, entities, and Brčko District—amounted to 2 billion and 107 million KM, an increase of 240 million KM compared to the revenues beneficiaries received from the Single Account in the same period in 2023.
In March 2024 alone, 873 million KM in indirect taxes were collected, which is 15 million KM more than in March 2023.
For the financing of state institutions in the first three months of 2024, an amount of 250 million KM was allocated. All surplus indirect tax revenues ended up in the entity coffers and with the Brčko District. Thus, the Federation of BiH received 1 billion and 139 million KM, the Republika Srpska 638 million KM, and the Brčko District 64 million KM.
"The table below shows the total allocated funds to the entities and Brčko District with the corresponding external debt for the first three months of 2024 compared to the same period last year. All amounts are expressed in millions of KM," the ITA BiH stated.
In addition to the allocated revenues in the table above, based on the special toll for the construction of highways and the construction and reconstruction of other roads (0.25 KM), the Federation of BiH received an additional 53 million KM, the Republika Srpska 35 million KM, and the Brčko District 2 million KM. The difference represents a reserve in the special toll account in the amount of 0.25 KM.
