Former BiH international Mladen Bartolović passes away at 49

(Patria) - After a long and difficult illness, former football international of Bosnia and Herzegovina Mladen Bartolović passed away at the age of 49.

The former Hajduk and Dinamo player unfortunately did not overcome the serious illness he had been battling in recent years.

"Mladen Bartolović has left us. At the age of 49, after a long and difficult illness, a man who left an immeasurable and indelible mark on Cibalia has passed away. With his moves and goals, he delighted everyone who holds the sky-blue color in their hearts, and in the history of our club, he will be remembered as the club's top scorer in the first league, and as the third player with the most appearances for Cibalia in modern history," reads Cibalia's announcement.

He wore the jersey with the BiH crest from 2003 to 2008.

He was born on April 10, 1977, in Zavidovići. He played 17 matches for the national team of Bosnia and Herzegovina, and in his career, he played for Segesta, Cibalia, Saarbrücken, Dinamo Zagreb, Zagreb, Hajduk Split, and Foolad.

The management, employees, and members of the Football Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina express their sincere condolences to the family and friends of Mladen Bartolović.
