SDP BiH Presidency: Edin Delić works and will work exclusively in the interest of citizens

Members of the Presidency of the Social Democratic Party of BiH at today's session in Lukavac gave full support to Edin Delić, the Mayor of Lukavac Municipality, due to announced attempts to recall him by the local SDA organization.

At a press conference, before the start of the Presidency session, Edin Delić once again emphasized that the support of the SDP leadership is a sign that he and his associates in Lukavac are doing a good job.

- The reason for my recall lies in the fact that the SDA has never accepted its defeat in Lukavac. There is no other reason, because in less than a year of my mandate in this municipality, more has been done than in several previous years. I am convinced that the recall will not succeed and that my position will be even stronger, because the citizens have recognized that we want to do better things for Lukavac. We have seen through the SDA's intentions to try to falsify the referendum results with their voting machine, which, besides bringing us unnecessary costs, will not bring any changes to the position of the Mayor of Lukavac Municipality - stated Delić.

Enver Bijedić, president of the SDP Tuzla Cantonal Organization, said that this organization, as several times before, gives full support to Edin Delić.

- All previous mayors, in the past 25 years, have destroyed this municipality and turned it into one of the most polluted in Europe. Edin, in a short time, gave citizens hope that Lukavac will become a place of more pleasant living. That is why I am absolutely certain that there will be no removal of the best mayor of Lukavac in the last 25 years, and this will be an introduction to our victory in 2018 - added Bijedić.

Nermin Nikšić, president of SDP BiH, stated that Edin Delić has shown in a short time how it is when one works exclusively in the interest of citizens.

- The difference is easily noticeable when a municipality is led by a mayor from the SDP. Edin Delić, with his short but successful work, has placed himself alongside successful mayors from our party. Although we consider the referendum a completely legitimate means of citizens' expression, the decision to recall in this way is nevertheless hasty.

Research shows that Mayor Delić already has the support of more than 70 percent of citizens. This is precisely proof that Edin performs his function in accordance with the law, preserving his own honor and that of his family. We, in the SDP, have a habit of saying that we are one big family, so today we felt a duty to be with a member of our family in this way – Edin Delić - concluded Nikšić.

At the Presidency session, members were also informed about the recently held Strategic Planning, where the draft of the SDP BiH Election Program for the upcoming general elections was presented.
