UEFA President Čeferin in Sarajevo: We will help with the national stadium, but that is a matter for the Association and your state

(Patria) - President of the International Federation of Association Football (UEFA) Aleksander Čeferin arrived for a visit to Sarajevo.

At a press conference for the media, Čeferin and the President of the Football Association of Bosnia and Herzegovina Vico Zeljković announced cooperation on all infrastructure issues.

Čeferin addressed the audience at the outset, emphasizing that they had a quality conversation:

“I am always glad to come to Bosnia and Herzegovina and Sarajevo. I have an excellent relationship with Vico, and we discussed various things. The most important is infrastructure, which is progressing well, but it can be improved. The national stadium is also important; all countries in the region have one. We also talked about refereeing,” said the UEFA President.

Zeljković confirmed the discussion about building the national stadium:

“We have support for all projects, gratitude to President Čeferin and UEFA. The goal is the construction of a national stadium; we will try to finalize the location story within the next month, and we are also moving forward with the construction of 18 artificial turf fields.”

When asked about the national stadium, Čeferin said that is a matter for the President of the Association and the state.

"We will help as much as we can. Cooperation with the Association is excellent. Vico knows he has my mobile number and can call me 24 hours a day. We always help; as a man from a small country, I understand the problems of those countries in football. That is why cooperation is even easier; we speak that language which I will not name because I don't know exactly what it is called now, but the stadium is even easier.”

Zeljković added that the problem lies in the current location, which has not been resolved in Sarajevo, but Zenica is ready:

“We have a location problem; we want to first resolve that issue in Sarajevo, but thank you to Zenica for understanding and waiting. In the next 30 days or so, we must finalize that story; if we don't resolve it in Sarajevo, then Zenica.”

The UEFA President will also speak today with members of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
