(Patria) - Edin Džeko is the new Fiorentina player, writes the world's most famous football insider Fabrizio Romano.
The Florence club has reached a full agreement with Fenerbahçe, and according to relevant sources, everything is done – all that remains is for the Bosnian captain to sign the contract.
Džeko will sign a one-year contract, with an option to extend until June 2027.
His net salary will be between 1.5 and 1.8 million euros per season, which is significantly less than the amount he had in Turkey, but the deciding factor was his desire to continue his career in one of the world's most prestigious leagues.
Džeko's arrival marks the beginning of Fiorentina's new project for the 2025/2026 season, which also includes the appointment of Stefano Pioli as the new head coach. After leaving Milan, Pioli is expected to take over the team from Florence and lead the side with Džeko as an experienced leader in attack.
The Bosnian international reportedly negotiated with Como and Bologna, but ultimately decided on the Florence team.
