Agreement signed for the construction of the south stand at Grbavica Stadium

(Patria) - An agreement for the construction of the south stand was signed today in the Blue Hall of the Grbavica Stadium, marking the final step towards announcing a tender and realizing one of the biggest infrastructure projects for the development of football in Sarajevo.

The Ministry of Culture and Sports of the Sarajevo Canton is financing this project with up to 4.7 million KM, while the Municipality of Novo Sarajevo will take on the role of implementer and coordinator of all activities related to the project's realization.

FK Željezničar has already obtained a legally binding building permit for the construction of the south stand and will continue to obtain all necessary approvals and permits, including the occupancy permit after the completion of the works.

The Minister of Culture and Sports of the Sarajevo Canton, Kenan Magoda, expressed satisfaction with this project, emphasizing that this is the year of the biggest investment for Željezničar.

- This is a great day for all of us here and for FK Željezničar. We have been talking about the construction of the south stand for a year, and with today's date and the signing of the agreement, the Ministry of Culture and Sports has fulfilled its promised word.



We thank all participants who have supported this project. All formal and legal conditions have been met to announce the tender, after which we will select a contractor. In this way, we are writing historical moments for the Grbavica Stadium, which is much more than just a sports facility.

The stadium represents emotion, love, and pride, and will hold a special place in the hearts of all fans. The construction of the south stand will certainly increase the revenue of FK Željezničar, and Grbavica will be worthy of hosting all sports clubs in Europe and the world.

Most importantly, all our selections will be able to play their matches at this stadium. Here we will experience moments of joy and sorrow together, but most importantly – Željezničar will be and remain number one – said Magoda.

The construction of the south stand of the Grbavica Stadium represents a key step in the modernization of this significant sports facility, which has served as the home ground for one of the most important football clubs in BiH – FK Željezničar – for many years.

The realization of this project contributes not only to the improvement of infrastructure but also to the strengthening of sports culture and fan spirit in the capital of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
