(Patria) - Mostar's Zrinjski suffered a heavy defeat tonight in the first match of the second qualifying round of the UEFA Champions League.
The Plemići visited Slovan in Bratislava and suffered a 4:0 debacle, reports Faktor.
At the start there were no chances, Zrinjski stood well, while Slovan occasionally threatened. We note only two saves by Karačić.
However, in the last five minutes of the first half, the Plemići faltered. First, Barseghyan scored brilliantly, followed by Strelec. It was 2:0 and that result ended the first half.
The Mostar side started the second half more bravely, trying to score, but another goal was seen in their net. Tolić scored in the 62nd minute for 3:0.
Slovan did not stop and in the 78th minute Ibrahim scored, but his goal was disallowed for offside.
In stoppage time, the hosts scored for 4:0 through Kukharevych and have a truly big advantage ahead of the return leg in seven days.
Zrinjski needs a miracle to advance, and it is hard to expect that the Plemići can celebrate at the end of this two-legged tie.
The loser of this tie will go to the third qualifying round of the Europa League.
