Posušje celebrates in the Herzegovina derby after sixteen years

(Patria) - HŠK Posušje and NK Široki Brijeg play the first match of Sunday's WWin League of Bosnia and Herzegovina program. The host decided the winner with Petrović's goal in the first half and celebrated with 1:0.

Posušje and Široki Brijeg entered the neighborhood derby from sixth and seventh position in the standings, respectively. In the previous round, Posušje drew with GOŠK in Gabela, and Široki Brijeg suffered a home defeat against Sloga, which eliminated Posušje from the Cup competition in the middle of the week. Široki advanced to the Cup semi-finals by eliminating Velež from Mostar.

After a calm opening 20 minutes, the guests threatened through Kuprešak. Kuprešak shot brilliantly, but hit the post. However, about thirty seconds later, there was an opportunity on the other side. Leonardo Petrović found himself in a great position in the guests' penalty area and scored for the great celebration of the home fans.

The first yellow card in the match was given to the guests' defender Ivan Franjić after a foul on the goal scorer Petrović.

There were no significant chances until the end of the half. The host, with high pressing, constantly kept the guests away from their goal, reported by sport.

After a truly careless tackle by Marijan Ćavar, the main referee of the match, Ermin Sivac, had to show another yellow card to the guests in the 41st minute of the match, and for protesting, the home player Karlo Kamenar also entered the referee's book.

A minute of stoppage time brought another, fourth corner for the hosts, but there was no change in the score, so the players of both teams went to the locker rooms with a score of 1:0.

The guests' coach, Dino Skender, made two substitutions at halftime. Mužek and Ćavar remained in the locker room, while Tomislav Tomić and Petar Mišić entered the game.

The host started the second half well. Karlo Kamenar crossed brilliantly, but Luka Lučić did not connect with the ball properly, and it went wide of the goal.

The guests took their first corner kick in the 58th minute of the match, but the home defense was up to the task.

The first substitution for the hosts was made in the 61st minute. Vinko Rozić came into the game, and the goal scorer, Petrović, left the field, and the present audience applauded him off. Rozić threatened the guests immediately after entering, but there was no new goal.

Eric received a yellow card in the 62nd minute, and the guests changed again. Marko Capan left the field, and Stephen Chinedu entered.

The hosts had a 100% chance in the 67th minute. The substitute Rozić hit the post after a cross, and the home striker Boban failed to react and put the ball into the guests' goal.

Zvonimir Begić received a new yellow card for the hosts after a tackle from behind.

Marko Hanuljak and Andro Babić entered the game in the 72nd minute, while Begić and Kamenar left the field. In the guests' last substitution, Mamić replaced Daniel Lukić.

The guests had a good chance after a set piece in the 83rd minute, but the Posušje defense reacted brilliantly.

Arijan Brković got a chance to play instead of Nikola Mandić in the final minutes of the match.

Ermin Sivac, the referee from Zenica, decided to extend the match by four minutes, and in the first minute of added time, the guests threatened, but the Posušje team defended the set piece brilliantly. The home goalkeeper Marko Galić received a yellow card for time-wasting.

With the new three points, Posušje is now three points behind FK Velež, who also have a game in hand. Široki Brijeg remains with 28 points won and in seventh position.

After the international break, Posušje will visit GOŠK, and Široki Brijeg will visit the league's bottom team, Zvijezda 09.
