Last train to Croatia, only a win against Italy will do

(Patria) - The European Football Championship in Germany continues today with matches in the third round of Group B.

Croatia and Italy will play at the stadium in Leipzig at (8:50 PM). Albania and Spain will play at the same time in Duesseldorf.

"Only a win will do for us, nothing else matters, anything else sends us home. We don't want to go home so early. We didn't achieve the necessary results in the first two matches, but we have to in the third. We have always been at our best when it mattered, against Belgium, against Russia, against Scotland," said Croatia's coach Zlatko Dalić.

Croatia found itself in a similar situation at the last European Championship when, after the first two rounds, they had one point, and in the final round, they beat Scotland.

Regarding their opponent tonight, Dalić points out that the current European champions did not show their true colours in the match against the Spanish.

"It wasn't a realistic picture, Spain was dominant, that defeat will further mobilize Italy," he added.

Italy's coach Luciano Spalletti said that his players reacted well after the defeat against Spain.

"We know we have to change something, when you play in such a big competition, the opponents are always high-quality. It is expected that we have learned something from the defeat. We have made some decisions because we know we have good players. They are ready and eager for success," said the Italian strategist, adding that his team has a winning mentality and that the defeat against "La Furia" will not leave too much of a mark.

He added that in the first two matches they "spent a lot of energy, they didn't hold back.

"We will see if we have learned our lesson from the match against Spain. Croatia is experienced, has great technical quality, but there will be moments when we will also control the game," he pointed out.

The Croatian national team was defeated at the start of the tournament by Spain with a score of 3-0. In the second round of Group B, they drew 2-2 with the Albanian team.

Italy defeated Albania 2-1 after a comeback, while Spain beat Italy 1-0 and qualified for the round of 16.

In Group B, Spain occupies the first position with 6 points, followed by Italy with three, while Croatia and Albania each have one point.
