
(Patria) - Serbian tennis player Novak Đoković was defeated in the second round of the Madrid Masters by Italian Matteo Arnaldi with 2:0 in sets.
Arnaldi immediately used the first break point at the start and took the serve from the Serbian tennis player, who broke back in the third game and reduced the Italian's lead to 2:1. In the fifth game, Đoković had another break chance which he did not convert, but Arnaldi did in the eighth and then served to win the first set, converting his second set point to lead 1:0 in sets.
The second set saw an even game, and the first break came in the seventh game when Arnaldi used his first break point to lead 4:3. In the next game, Đoković had three consecutive break chances which he did not convert, so the Italian led 5:3. The Serbian tennis player then easily won his service game, and then Arnaldi was under great pressure as he served for victory against the greatest tennis player of all time. He succeeded in the end and advanced to the third round of the Madrid Masters.
There, he will face the best Bosnian-Herzegovinian tennis player, Damir Džumhur, who today defeated Sebastian Baez in three sets.
