(Patria) - Široki Brijeg tonight defeated Željezničar with a score of 3:0 in the first match of the Bosnia and Herzegovina Cup semi-final.
The home players deservedly celebrated, while Željo experienced a debacle at Pecara when it mattered most, writes Faktor.
In the 9th minute, the visitors had a great chance. After a corner, the ball reached Krpić, who shot powerfully and hit the post.
The penalty for the miss was brutal and followed three minutes later. Radovac lost the ball at the center, Jukić was left alone on the left side and hit the opposite corner of Muftić's goal.
Shortly after, the hosts threatened again, but this time Muftić saved his goal after Musa's header attempt.
In the 26th minute, another chance for Krpić. Galić crossed, goalkeeper Josipović missed the ball, and Željo's captain headed wide from a few meters.
The hosts reached 2:0 in the final minutes of the first half. Željo made a mistake in attack. Tomić won the ball, Jukić ran a counter-attack, easily got rid of Šukilović, and unselfishly set up Lukić who scored for 2:0.
In the 42nd minute, it was dangerous again in front of the visitors' goal, but this time Željo was saved.
However, there was no salvation in the 48th minute. After a corner, Al-Jaber reacted clumsily and scored an own goal for a true debacle for the visitors.
In the first minute of stoppage time, Željo played their only meaningful action. The visitors combined nicely, but Al-Jaber shot over the goal from a promising position.
The second leg is played on April 16th at Grbavica, where Željo will be on an impossible mission to make up the large deficit.
