Bosnia's Political Paralysis: While the 'Troika' Sells Smoke from the Shadows, Ukraine and Moldova Begin EU Negotiations!

Bosnia and Herzegovina, a country with a rich history and cultural heritage, has been stagnating on its path to the European Union for years. While countries like Ukraine and Moldova are achieving concrete progress and today begin official membership negotiations, BiH remains in political fog, entangled in internal conflicts and inefficiency. Members of the political coalition known as the Troika promised swift reforms and integration, but the results, unfortunately, have been absent.

Ukraine and Moldova Making Progress?

Ukraine, a country affected by war, and Moldova, one of Europe's poorest countries, have managed to achieve what Bosnia and Herzegovina has not yet – a clearly defined path and the start of membership negotiations with the European Union. These countries, despite enormous challenges, have shown determination and political will for reforms, while BiH's political elite seems more interested in maintaining the status quo than in real change.

The Troika and Illusions of the European Path!

The Troika, comprising SDP, NiP, and NS, continues to sell illusions of the European path, like smoke from the budget shadows where they have hidden, aware of the failure of the policies they are pursuing. Their activities often resemble political marketing without real substance. Instead of concrete reforms that would accelerate the European path, we are witnessing political maneuvering and a constant power struggle. The citizens of BiH deserve more than this – they deserve politicians who will genuinely dedicate themselves to their future and the future of the country.

The key problems hindering BiH's progress on the path to the EU are numerous: corruption, weak rule of law, ethnic divisions, and political paralysis. These problems are not new, but the lack of will to resolve them is particularly concerning. While other countries advance, BiH sinks deeper into political and economic crisis. Meanwhile, young people are forging their own paths to Europe and the West, having long lost patience with the continuous selling of Troika's smoke and talk of compromises.

Necessary Reforms for a Better Life for Citizens

The European Union is not just a goal, but a roadmap for necessary reforms that will improve the daily lives of BiH citizens. The Troika must stop selling smoke and start working seriously on fulfilling the conditions for membership. This means fighting corruption, strengthening the judicial system, improving human rights, and building a functional state.

BiH has the potential to become a full member of the European Union, but this potential will not be realized without bold and decisive steps towards reforms. The citizens of BiH deserve nothing less than full commitment and concrete results on the European path. While Ukraine and Moldova take brave steps towards a better future, BiH must stop treading water. The European path is not just a political slogan – it is a commitment to citizens who dream of a better and more prosperous country. It is time for that dream to begin to be realized, not sold as an illusion.

Compromises and Retrograde Policies: Separatism in Power!

However, one cannot compromise on the European path with retrograde policies that the entire world has characterized as anti-democratic and anti-civilizational. It is clear that only Nermin Nikšić, Elmedin Konaković, and Edin Forto still believe in the possibility of compromise with Dodik. After all, if it were a real compromise, it might not be so bad, but they understand compromise as fulfilling all of Milorad Dodik's wishes and demands.

And it is precisely through such policies, the SDP on multiple occasions, and the Troika in the current mandate, that Dodik has become a key segment of state power. And when a separatist is a key segment, it is clear that Bosnia and Herzegovina has no possibility of moving forward. The Troika has not acted any better towards the other leader they falsely call a partner – Dragan Čović. Čović is a hidden separatist who set tasks for the Troika even before giving them permission to enter government.

Fulfilling these tasks is completely contrary to the requirements of the European path, as Čović's goals and desires involve adding more mud to the mire in which Bosnia and Herzegovina is already stuck. From ethnic and legitimate representation, through the transformation of state public interests into ethnic and particular ones, to legislative solutions, Čović pursues a policy absolutely contrary to the European path of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The Troika's Illusionism of Progress: The Experiment Failed, Citizens are Next

On the other hand, Nikšić, Konaković, and Forto cover their eyes and pretend not to see it, so even today, after all that has been witnessed, they offer us a story about a functional state coalition and imaginary progress towards the European Union. Today's opening of negotiations by Ukraine and Moldova will silence the spin and lies of both the Troika and their creators and mentors, from US Ambassador Michael Murphy, through private High Representative Christian Schmidt, to Head of the EU Delegation Johann Sattler.

Because, from today, it will be clear to everyone that the experiment with the Troika as a political group for realizing Dodik's and Čović's desires has failed. It will also be clear to them that the opportunity given for opening negotiations is a product of European fear in the given geopolitical and geostrategic circumstances, and certainly not of the BiH authorities' progress.

Elections are coming soon, and the Troika will face the citizens with a bag full of smoke. We only hope that Murphy will not again force Schmidt to break the Constitution and the system so that his subordinates can survive the will of the people!
