Podgorica's Budućnost celebrated in Zetra: Students register third consecutive loss

(Patria) - Sarajevo's Bosna basketball players suffered their third consecutive loss tonight.

After defeats against Mega and Lublin, the Students lost to Podgorica's Budućnost 82:91 in the 2nd round ABA league match, writes Faktor.

This was the return home match for the Sarajevans in the regional competition, but they will not remember it fondly.

Bosna started the match better and led by four points twice (7:3 and 9:5). However, the guests took the lead with an 8:0 run and reached a four-point advantage (9:13).

At the end of the first quarter, Bosna regained the lead (16:15), but the Montenegrin team went into the first break with a two-point lead thanks to a three-pointer (16:18).

(Patria) - Bosna basketball players are currently playing their second ABA league match on their home court in Sarajevo.The Students are hosting Podgorica's Budućnost in a well-filled Zetra hall.Before the start of the match, all present in the hall observed a minute of silence.

The second quarter was entirely dominated by Budućnost players (24:9), who had a 17-point lead at halftime, practically deciding the winner at that point (25:42).

At the start of the third period, the guests extended their lead to 24 points (25:49), but Bosna reduced the deficit with a 10:2 run (35:51).

The third quarter ended in a draw (21:21), and in the last ten minutes, Bosna did not give up.

They reduced the deficit to 11 points (56:67) with seven minutes left, and a minute later, West hit a three-pointer to make it 62:70.

In the 37th minute, with the score at 66:73, the referees made a decision that infuriated the home coach Damjanović, who received his second technical foul and was consequently ejected.

Chants of "referees are thieves" echoed from the stands, but that did not stop Rasheed Sulaimon, who made free throws and restored the double-digit lead (66:76).

The Students did not manage to pull off a sensation and overcome the large deficit by the end, but they showed that they deserve to play in the regional elite.
