Singer Alka Vuica in the race for the Croatian Parliament

(Patria) - Croatian SDP leader Peđa Grbin announced last night that the Main Board of that party adopted the election lists of the Rijeke pravde coalition for the Croatian Parliament and the European Parliament.

All coalition lists will be led by SDP members Arsen Bauk (1st electoral unit), Boris Lalovac (2nd), Siniša Hajdaš Dončić (3rd), Mišel Jakšić (4th), Predrag Fred Matić (5th), Mihael Zmajlović (6th), Kristina Ikić Baniček (7th), Peđa Grbin (8th), Sabina Glasovac (9th), and Ranko Ostojić (10th).

Among those who could return to parliamentary seats, considering their positions on the lists, are Marija Lugarić, Ivan Račan, and Saša Đujić, possibly also Željko Jovanović, if he manages to secure a mandate from the 14th position in the eighth electoral unit through preferential votes.

At the 14th position in the sixth electoral unit is also singer Alka Vuica, and a surprise is the fifth position for Branka Bakšić Mitić, the deputy mayor of Glina, who was elected to that position in local elections as an independent from the Serbian minority, and who particularly distinguished herself with humanitarian efforts after the earthquake in Banija.

- This is a battle for a democratic Croatia. In 2024, we are again having elections for democracy. It is good that we are forming a coalition, then the HDZ's result will be weaker than if we went separately.

And this shows how close we are and how victorious these elections will be for a better Croatia. We still have three weeks of campaigning, and we will confront ideas there - said Grbin, commenting on recent polls showing an increase in support for the SDP-led coalition.

The Rijeke pravde coalition will submit its lists to the State Election Commission (DIP) on Thursday.
