Pjanić: A life-defining match awaits us, my dream is to go to the Euro

(Patria) - The senior national team players of Bosnia and Herzegovina will gather on Monday in Sarajevo and begin preparations for the Euro 2024 playoff matches.

The first opponent for the Dragons will be Ukraine on March 21 at "Bilino Polje" in Zenica.

One of the most experienced national team players in our squad, Miralem Pjanić, approaches the upcoming match with plenty of motivation.

- I expect a life-defining match. My dream is to go with the Bosnia and Herzegovina national team to the European Championship.

I was the first in history to wear my country's jersey at the World Cup, and I would like to be at the Euro as well, which we have not participated in so far.

A difficult match awaits us, but great motivation and our fans will be an advantage for our team - said Pjanić.

He also commented on the Ukraine selection:

"They have a very high-quality national team. They are a young and strong team. I have watched them several times, and it is a very good team that caused a lot of problems for Italy in the qualifiers. That says a lot about their qualities."

The popular Mire was also part of all previous playoff matches in which our selection participated.

- We had a lot of bad luck in previous playoff matches. You have to be mentally prepared for such matches.

There are several of us players who have more experience compared to the younger guys, and we have to pass that on to the entire team. I look forward to the upcoming gathering and come with great motivation - Pjanić said.

He also sent a message to all fans of the BH team.

- We have fantastic fans, and I hope we can make them happy, as well as the whole country. It would mean a lot to the entire Bosnia and Herzegovina to qualify for a major competition, and we will do everything to achieve that - added Pjanić.
