Pidro hero of Velež, only a draw at Grbavica

(Patria) - FK Velež footballers achieved an important victory in Doboj, defeating FK Sloga in the 19th round match of the WWin League of Bosnia and Herzegovina. The Mostar team thus extended their streak of great results, as they have been undefeated in all competitions for eight consecutive matches.

The Mostar team secured three points with a goal by Pidro in the 90th minute, in a match that, besides the score, was marked by numerous controversial refereeing decisions, but fortunately, VAR exists...

Velež took the lead with a penalty goal by Šarić, while Sloga equalized through Mandić, who capitalized on practically the home team's only serious chance. However, the key moment occurred at the very end of the match, when Pidro scored into Sloga's net, bringing Velež a deserved victory.

The match was characterized by poor refereeing by the main official, Amin Efendić. After awarding a penalty for Velež, Efendić pointed to the penalty spot twice more in favor of Sloga, although in both situations it was evident that there were no elements for the harshest penalty. VAR interventions corrected refereeing errors and canceled both penalties, but the frequent and incorrect decisions further disrupted the rhythm and quality of the match.

In the end, despite refereeing oversights and a nervous finish, Velež, with a goal in the final moments of the game, achieved a valuable victory and points that could be of great significance in the continuation of the championship.

After this round, Rođeni (Velež) overtook Sarajevo and are in third place with 28 points. Sloga, on the other hand, remained eighth with 18 points.

In another match of this round, Željezničar and Radnik from Bijeljina played to a goalless draw today at Grbavica.

Although the home team had the initiative, concrete finishing was lacking, which caused dissatisfaction among the fans who sent off the Željezničar players with whistles after the final whistle.
