(Patria) - Bosnian shot putter Mesud Pezer competed in his third Olympic Games in Paris but failed to advance.
"I prepared maximally for my third Olympic Games, both physically and mentally.
I had a huge desire to achieve the best result at the world's biggest sporting event and qualify for the final, which I managed to do with no major issues at the last Olympic Games in Tokyo.
I executed all three throws almost technically perfectly, but I lacked strength in my arm during the release. Clearly, the injury from 15 days ago took its toll, because my best result this year is almost two meters better than my throws at the Olympic Games in Paris," Pezer stated.
He thanked everyone who supported him over the past four years, and Pezer will most likely compete in the 2028 Olympic Games in Los Angeles.
"I especially thank my family, my coach, the Athletics Federation of BiH, and a big thank you goes to the Olympic Committee of BiH, who were an unconditional support during this four-year cycle. Now, a rest with my family awaits me, and then we will start with intensive training and preparations for the next season," Pezer stated.
