THE CUP RETURNS TO SARAJEVO After drama in Zetra, KK Bosna is the new state champion!

(Patria) - After two and a half hours of drama, comebacks and an incredible atmosphere in Zetra, KK Bosna is once again the champion of Bosnia and Herzegovina after 18 years.

The Students entered the final with an advantage from the first game in Laktaši, where they won 76:70, so the Sarajevo team defended a six-point lead in the rematch. Igokea needed a win by at least seven points for the title, while six would have led to another overtime.

The guests imposed their rhythm from the very start and already at halftime had a big lead of 53:36. At one point, Igokea's lead was as much as 23 points, and it seemed that Bosna had no answer to the aggressive defense and inspired attack of the team from Laktaši.

As nervousness, hope and whistles due to certain refereeing decisions alternated from the stands of Zetra, Bosna slowly began to build a comeback. Led by Jura Zubac, Edin Atić, Alfonso Plamer, Haris Delalić and Jarrod West, the Students returned to the game, and the hall echoed louder and louder with: "Bosna will be champion again."

In the dramatic finish of regulation time, Igokea was several times at a result that would have given them the title, but Bosna found an answer. The key moment came near the end when Petar Kovačević hit a free throw to force overtime and a new wave of excitement in the stands.

Even the additional five minutes did not bring a resolution without drama. Igokea again reached the required difference, but Young, Atić, Kovačević and Caruthers kept Bosna close enough to preserve the capital from the first game.

In the end, Igokea won the rematch, but failed to overcome the deficit from Laktaši. The final siren marked the beginning of a great celebration in Zetra, which exploded with delight.

After 18 years of waiting, Bosna is again at the top of Bosnian basketball – champion of Bosnia and Herzegovina. A title won after a final full of comebacks, uncertainty and emotions that will be remembered for a long time.
